AirDroid App ( play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5zYW5kLmFpcmRyb2lkIl0.) This App has a really sleek web interface for you to easily connect your Nexus 7 tablet with your computer and transfer / view files . The best part of this app is that it doesnt require your app to be rooted for most features. ( Screenshot features requires your device to rooted FtpCafe FTP Client( play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ftpcafe.trial&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5mdHBjYWZlLnRyaWFsIl0.) This App provides you with three ways to transfer files, FTP,STFP and FTPS. I personally use a lot of SFTP so that was the best bet for me. For linux boxes, make sure you have SHH installed and running. If so, then your ssh address sould be something like sftp://[username]@[machine_ip]:[port] where username is your linux username. Port is set to 22 by default which can be changed. Using the PTP feature provided by nexus When you connect your Nexus 7 to your computer via USB, nexus 7 gives you two options, MTP or PTP. I tried MTP but couldnt get it work on my Linux Box and I am more than happy using SFTP to transfer files. PTP is more for transferring pictures across but who says it cant be used for other file transfers. Give it a go and hope you guys are enjoying your experience with Nexus 7 as much as I am.
